Job summary

Rocky Mountain Reserve is seeking an EDI Specialist to oversee enrollment data exchanges for FSA, HSA, HRA, and COBRA. You will configure and monitor EDI 834 transactions while guiding onboarding with employers and carriers via SFTP/AS2.

This remote role requires a strong HIPAA mindset and data integrity focus. You will map and validate employer and payroll data, troubleshoot rejections, and collaborate across Account Management, Claims, and Operations to ensure accurate, timely data flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years in EDI within healthcare or benefits administration.
• Knowledge of health benefits (HSA, FSA, HRA, COBRA) and life events that trigger data changes.
• Self-starter in a small-business environment owning end-to-end processes.
• Strong ANSI X12 knowledge, especially 834; 820 desired.
• Experience with EDI translation tools and SQL for validation.

Responsibilities

• Configure, validate, and monitor EDI 834 transactions for enrollment and maintenance across all benefit plans.
• Lead the technical onboarding and integration of new employer groups and carriers via secure data exchange connections (SFTP, AS2).
• Ensure all data exchanges meet HIPAA security standards to protect PHI.
• Develop, test, and maintain EDI maps and transformation rules for standardized data formats.
• Troubleshoot file rejections or data mismatches to avoid impacting access to health funds.
• Collaborate with Account Management, Claims, and Operations to ensure timely data flow.
