Job summary

Afton Partners is seeking an Associate to support strategic planning, policy, and systems design for Early Childhood clients across the United States. You will work on research, data analysis, and engagement tasks to shape policy recommendations and funding options, with a collaborative, mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and research skills; clear writing; attention to detail.
• Foundation in or desire to develop management consulting skills: structuring problems, synthesizing information, supporting facilitation, and client communication.
• Experience across policy, research, government, philanthropy, or early childhood sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct policy research on early childhood topics across states and funding streams.
• Code qualitative data from interviews and surveys; identify key themes.
• Analyze enrollment, cost, workforce, and funding data; build clear spreadsheets and models.
• Support cost modeling, revenue scenarios, and budget analyses for client decisions.
• Prepare client deliverables, meeting materials, and background documents.
• Coordinate interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder engagements; assist facilitation.
