Job summary

Mutual of Omaha is seeking an EAP Counselor to provide in-the-moment counseling from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on a local schedule, Monday through Friday, within our Workplace Solutions division.

You will handle incoming HR partner and employee calls, offering brief, solution-focused guidance without long-term case management. The role emphasizes rapid support, resource referrals, and connection to local providers.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in behavioral health.
• Master's degree in counseling, mental health, social work, chemical dependency or related field.
• Active licensure in a relevant state or eligibility for licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a supportive and empathetic manner, guiding employees and families through personal and work-related challenges.
• Collaborate with individuals to create actionable plans for short-term problems.
• Identify external professionals and resources for referrals and long-term support as needed.
• Develop and contract with providers to expand the service network for employees and families.
