Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a work-from-home Inpatient Coding Auditor. You will perform internal quality assessment reviews of Health Information Management Service Center coders to ensure complete, accurate coding in line with national guidelines and company policies, supporting reimbursement and data integrity.

You will lead quality reviews for inpatient/outpatient coding, ensure adherence to guidelines, and maintain high productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience
• Minimum of 3 years coding auditing/monitoring experience
• RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS preferred
• High school diploma and/or GED preferred
• Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and perform all quality reviews for inpatient and/or outpatient coding across multiple HSCs
• Assist in ensuring adherence with coding guidelines and policy
• Demonstrates expert level knowledge of medical coding practices and concepts
• Maintain productivity of 95% or higher and accuracy of 95%+
• Review data quality standards and clinical resources to keep coding knowledge current
