Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a work-from-home Inpatient Coding Auditor to perform internal quality assessments on Health Information Management staff. You will ensure coding compliance with national guidelines and company policies to support accurate reimbursement and data integrity.

Key responsibilities include leading quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding, ensuring adherence to guidelines, and maintaining high productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years coding auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred.
• RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS preferred.
• High school diploma and/or GED preferred.
• Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs internal quality assessment reviews on coders to ensure compliance with national coding guidelines and company policies.
• Reviews outcomes and communicates findings to the HSC team to improve accuracy and data integrity.
• Maintains productivity of at least 95% and accuracy of at least 95%.
• Participates in special reviews or projects and stays current with coding resources.

Education

Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred
