Job summary

Ensemble is seeking a remote Inpatient Coding Auditor to perform documentation and coding audits for acute inpatient services across client sites. Responsibilities include validating DRG assignments, identifying coding discrepancies, and educating coders to improve accuracy and compliance.

Minimum education is a Bachelor's degree with CPC/CCS/RHIA/RHIT certifications preferred. This remote role may require travel to client sites or corporate offices as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of coding experience.
• 3+ years of facility coding audit experience (DRG/APC validation).
• Proficiency in multiple EMRs, encoders, and Microsoft Office.
• HIPAA regulations knowledge; maintain confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform documentation and coding audits for acute inpatient services.
• Identify coding errors, compliance issues, and educational opportunities.
• Ensure DRG accuracy and appropriate reimbursement.
• Collaborate with CDI specialists on documentation improvements.
• Maintain awareness of ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and AHA Coding Clinics.
• Meet productivity and quality targets set by audit leaders.
