Job summary

Enjoin in the United States is seeking a DRG Integrity Analyst to perform first-level clinical and coding review of inpatient encounters, identifying DRG opportunities, risks, and documentation gaps. You will screen cases to determine if deeper analysis is needed and ensure only high-value opportunities advance.

This role requires solid knowledge of DRG methodology, clinical indicators, and coding guidelines to support accurate, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• CCS or RHIT/RHIA/CDIP/CCDS credential required.
• Minimum of 2 years inpatient coding experience.
• Working knowledge of MS-DRG methodology and diagnostic/procedure coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial screening of inpatient charts to identify DRG opportunities and risks.
• Conduct high-level clinical and coding assessments focused on principal diagnosis, CC/MCCs, and sequencing.
• Identify documentation gaps and coding misalignment impacting DRG assignment.
• Triage validated opportunities to Clinical Coding Analysts for deeper review.
• Apply standardized screening workflows and DRG methodologies for consistency and productivity.
• Document screening decisions and rationale for audit defensibility.
• Maintain productivity and quality in a high-volume review environment.
• Collaborate with CCAs and leadership on best practices and workflow improvements.
• Identify trends and gaps to support continuous improvement initiatives.
