Job summary

360X Staffing is seeking an experienced DRG Revenue Integrity Auditor to review inpatient hospital records and ensure that coding accurately reflects the care provided. This role requires independence, the ability to explain audit findings clearly, and a drive to improve documentation and coding accuracy.

You will audit discharge records, determine DRG assignments, and collaborate with internal teams to address documentation gaps.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG knowledge.
• CCS or RHIT certification preferred.
• Experience with clinical documentation review and physician queries.
• Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Audit inpatient records for accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, and DRG assignments.
• Review present-on-admission indicators, severity of illness, risk of mortality, and revenue impact of coding.
• Identify documentation gaps and prepare compliant physician queries.
• Apply coding guidelines, CMS requirements, and payer policies.
• Share findings with internal teams and clients, maintaining quality and productivity.
• Work across hospital EHRs while protecting patient information.

This role is a fit for a coding professional who can work independently, explain audit findings clearly, and help improve documentation and coding accuracy.

What you’ll do

• Audit inpatient records for accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, code sequencing, and DRG assignment.
• Review present-on-admission indicators, severity of illness, risk of mortality, and the revenue impact of coding decisions.
• Identify documentation gaps and prepare compliant physician queries when clarification is needed.
• Apply official coding guidelines, CMS requirements, and relevant payer policies.
• Share audit findings and practical feedback with internal teams and clients while meeting quality and productivity standards.
• Work across hospital EHR and coding systems while protecting patient information.

What we’re looking for

• At least three years of inpatient coding experience and strong ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG knowledge.
• CCS or RHIT certification. DRG auditing experience is preferred.
• Experience with clinical documentation review and physician queries.
• Familiarity with hospital EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear written communication.
• Additional CDI credentials, such as CDIP or CCDS, are a plus.
