Job summary

Horizon is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) under the JETS Program. This fully remote role requires an Active DoD Top Secret Clearance and focuses on cybersecurity engineering to protect enterprise systems, applications, and networks, while supporting CSSP functions.

The candidate will implement modern cybersecurity solutions, perform security engineering tasks, and support incident response within DoD environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant IT and cybersecurity experience.
• Experience implementing modern cybersecurity technologies such as blockchain or cryptographic security solutions.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity engineering principles and secure system integration.
• Experience supporting incident response and enterprise cybersecurity operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide cybersecurity engineering support for the planning, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation of secure information systems.
• Analyze cybersecurity requirements and recommend technical security solutions.
• Support CSSP operations, including incident response and cybersecurity content development.
• Implement and integrate modern cybersecurity technologies, including blockchain or other cryptographic security solutions.
• Assess security risks and vulnerabilities across enterprise applications, networks, and systems.
• Collaborate with DLA stakeholders to ensure enterprise-wide incident handling and compliance with DoD directives.
• Develop and implement security controls to protect both internally and externally hosted systems.
• Support continuous monitoring, security assessments, and cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
• Troubleshoot security-related issues and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain documentation supporting cybersecurity operations and security engineering activities.
