Job summary

Biehl is seeking a Documentation Manager to oversee the documentation team and support offices and customers with bills of lading, ACE filings, certificates of origin, and USCG notices from our Pasadena operations.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, with experience in shipping paperwork and regulatory filings. Flexible work-from-home options are available along with standard benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience with ships, tugs, etc. and accompanying paperwork preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to lead a documentation team and coordinate with offices and customers.

Responsibilities

Track documentation requests and ensure full completion.
Lead and train the documentation team for efficiency.
Process and support new documentation requests.
Monitor monthly income and AR.
File ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) import entries for vessels arriving with foreign cargo onboard as well as for ship spares being landed within the US.
File ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) export entries for vessels loading cargo in the US destined for foreign countries.
Complete export documentation (Bills of Lading, Certificate of Origins, Cargo Manifest, Mates Receipts) for cargo loaded in the US destined for foreign countries.
Filing USCG Electronic Notice of Arrivals and Departures for applicable vessels entering the US.
Ensure filings are completed and accepted within the required deadlines.
