Job summary

Avalon, a leading law firm, seeks a temporary Document Review Manager to oversee large-scale document review projects, coordinating teams of bench attorneys and contract reviewers. You will partner with case teams and eDiscovery vendors to implement review protocols and TAR/CAL workflows, ensuring quality and timely production.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in document review operations, quality control, and production readiness for complex matters, with bar admission and NY-area

Qualifications

• Bar admission is required.
• Experience managing large-scale or complex reviews.
• Familiarity with TAR/CAL workflows, analytics, search methodologies, and AI-assisted review tools.
• Proficiency with the Relativity review platform and other similar review technologies.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with privilege logging, redactions, and production specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of document review projects from kickoff through production.
• Supervise teams of document reviewers, team leads, and contract attorneys.
• Implement review protocols, coding guidelines, escalation procedures, and workflow documentation.
• Conduct reviewer training on platform usage and provide ongoing feedback to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Monitor reviewer productivity, quality metrics, and deadlines to ensure efficient completion of review objectives.
• Coordinate with case teams, eDiscovery counsel, litigation support professionals, and vendors regarding review strategy and production requirements.
• Perform and oversee quality control and validation processes, including responsiveness, privilege, confidentiality, and issue coding reviews.
• Assist with implementation and management of TAR, CAL, analytics, and AI-assisted review workflows where appropriate.
• Track project status, reporting metrics, and budget considerations, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Resolve substantive and procedural review issues, including escalation of potentially privileged or high-risk documents.
