Job summary

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions (QDSS) is seeking a Software Verification & Validation Engineer to support safety-critical embedded software for aerospace applications. You will verify software in RTOS environments, perform system-level testing, and ensure DO-178C DAL A compliance. Remote in the United States with U.S.

citizenship required. Candidates should have a strong background in C/Python, DO-178C, and hands-on integration across hardware and software to deliver dependable,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience in avionics or embedded safety-critical environments.
• Experience developing software to DO-178C standards.
• Experience with RTOS-based embedded software.
• Proficiency in C and Python.
• Hands-on integration and testing at system and software levels.

Responsibilities

• Review software plans, requirements, implementations, tests and processes for DO-178C DAL A alignment.
• Develop and execute requirements-based test cases for HL R and LL R.
• Perform RTOS and hardware/software integration testing in embedded environments.
• Analyze test results, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate to resolve issues.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, tests and verification results.
• Learn client architecture, tools, and engineering processes while contributing actively to verification work.
