Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Distribution Designer to provide design for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems from 4kV to 69kV, located in Atlanta with remote work options. The role focuses on creating drawings, estimates, and BOMs, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and schedules.

Field data may be collected as needed. The position requires 5+ years in distribution design for utilities or consulting and an AA S in CAD or related engineering technology.

Qualifications

• Five+ years designing electric utility distribution systems in consulting or utility environments.
• Associate degree in CAD/design or related engineering technology.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and/or underground distribution facilities.
• Prepare design sketches, drawings, cost estimates, BOMs, and construction documents.
• Apply standards, guidelines, specifications, practices, procedures, and industry standards in preparing the design.
• Perform distribution system design calculations.
• Prepare and oversee preparation of design documents for construction, including plan and profiles, structure loadings, design details, trench and conduit drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Communicate with clients and engineers on system requirements and identify Right of Way for proposed equipment.
• Acquire field data as necessary and work with field surveying to prepare appropriate designs.
