ThisWay Global is hiring a Distributed Systems Engineer for a remote role in the United States. This position involves designing and building foundational distributed systems that support AI and exascale computing environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in systems programming, operational infrastructure, and must be proficient in Rust or Go. You will work independently while collaborating with a skilled engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience with low bandwidth and high latency environments.
• Production experience in Rust or Go is required.
• Knowledge of consistency models and coordination strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems that tolerate latency and bandwidth constraints.
• Implement fault-tolerant communication strategies and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with engineers on operating systems internals and fault tolerance.

Skills

Experience building distributed systems

Production experience in Rust or Go

Understanding of distributed systems failure modes

Experience designing APIs

Understanding of systems-level concepts

Ability to work independently
