Job summary
Capital One is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead in cloud-based risk technology, architect intelligent real‑time risk products, and mentor engineers. You will drive innovative solutions, influence across teams, and contribute to the development of scalable, reliable systems using AI and ML technologies.
You will collaborate with AML & Sanctions teams, shape architectural direction, participate hands-on in code and design reviews, and coach other engineers to raise technical excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a software or related field is required.
- 10+ years in software engineering and solution architecture preferred.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and data architectures.
- Experience applying AI/ML concepts to engineering challenges is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for embedding AI and automated code transformation into the developer lifecycle.
- Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions.
- Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation.
- Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such as performance, scalability and operability.
- Continue learning and injecting advanced technical knowledge into our community.
- Mentor engineers and coach the technical talent across teams.
