Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of Short Term and Long Term Disability underwriting and risk analysis experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management.
• Knowledge of the competitor landscape.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
• Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
• Demonstrate high performance and accountability working in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• The Disability Financial Underwriter will prepare offers for prospective and renewal clients in the small and mid-market group segments.
• Provide appropriate rationale and support to sales, clients, and other areas surrounding risk selection, financial analysis, rate computations, and financial activity.
• Provide expense estimates and accurate analysis of financial exhibits.
• Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
• Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and require minimal direction.
