Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director Underwriting to lead underwriting strategy and guide a team supporting complex pricing decisions in a highly regulated healthcare environment. This role will collaborate with Legal, Client Engagement, and leadership to ensure accurate, timely financial responses, bid workflows, and contractual terms.

The position offers remote work flexibility and a compensation range of $124,000–$211,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8 years of underwriting, healthcare finance, pricing, consulting, actuarial, or related experience.
• 5 years of leadership and people management experience.
• Advanced underwriting and financial acumen.
• Executive-level communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and daily guidance to underwriting managers
• Develop and execute ASO pricing and margin strategies with leadership
• Oversee workflow coordination for the underwriting team
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial responses to RFPs
• Consult with Legal and Client Engagement on contractual terms
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and track bids
• Support leadership directly
