Job summary

North is seeking a Director of Threat Detection and Response to lead our Incident Response, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting, and Cyber Threat Intelligence programs. You will guide strategy, build capabilities, and ensure rapid detection, containment, and remediation across cloud, on-prem, and payments tech environments.

You will manage a high-performing team of senior responders, threat hunters, and engineers, translating complex findings into actionable updates for executive leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or related field, or combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on information security experience with incident response, detection engineering, and threat hunting.
• Proven leadership overseeing complex security operations and technical teams.
• Experience with incident response tools, digital forensics protocols, and log-analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior incident commander during major, high-severity security incidents.
• Direct the organization’s incident response, detection engineering, and threat-hunting strategy.
• Oversee digital forensics and root-cause analysis to remediate systemic gaps and reduce risk.
• Lead development of high-fidelity detection logic and enterprise logging pipelines.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of incident responders and threat hunters.
• Translate technical findings for executive leadership and the board.
