Job summary

Pathward, N.A. is seeking a Director of Compliance in the Tax Division to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the compliance program ensuring adherence to federal/state laws, banking regulations, and tax industry requirements.

You will liaise with tax division leadership, BSA/AML operations, and risk groups to ensure proper controls, reporting, and system enhancements are in place. Hybrid remote-office model with locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
• Preferred CRCM designation.
• Typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience managing compliance programs or teams.
• Experience supporting banking, tax financial products or consumer financial services organizations.
• Demonstrated experience working with regulators, auditors, and external partners.
• Demonstrated experience working with regulators, auditors, and BSA/AML Operations teams.
• Fair Lending oversight experience (ECOA, Disparate Impact testing, Risk Model reviews).
• Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires evaluation.
• Determines best approach to achieve results and provides suggestions to improve policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Attention to detail; manage multiple, competing priorities; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Leads the compliance team to develop skills, provide training, and establish standards.
• Designs and manages the implementation of risk management processes for bank products and loan portfolio.
• Directs loan portfolio loss prevention processes, identifies patterns, and uses Power BI for reporting.
• Leads compliance reviews to ensure regulatory adherence and enhance controls and reporting.
• Collaborates with compliance oversight and business risk groups on program insight.
• Participates in projects with regulatory impact to ensure guidelines compliance.
• Directs oversight of Independently owned Tax Offices related to due diligence.
• Assists in developing and enhancing risk management policies and procedures.
• Performs problem management and escalation as needed.
• Acts as a subject matter expert in designated risk discipline.
• Other duties as assigned.
