Job summary

Porch Group is seeking a Director of Engineering for its Insurance Division. This role leads the engineering organization behind policy administration, underwriting, agent and consumer experiences, with AI-driven systems at the core.

You will guide the rollout of a new policy administration platform and ensure delivery in a regulated environment while accelerating speed and quality. You will own the strategy, build a high-performing team across the US, South America and India, manage vendors,

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with 8+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience building core insurance platforms (policy administration, rating, underwriting, billing).
• Proven ability to lead multi-site teams and drive delivery in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering strategy and multi-year roadmap for Porch's insurance platform.
• Lead delivery of the new policy administration system and core platform components.
• Make AI-led engineering a default across teams and measure impact on speed and quality.
• Embed AI into product areas from underwriting to servicing with governance and audits.
• Establish end-to-end processes for planning, estimation, release and compliance.
• Build a compliant platform meeting NAIC, SEC and state requirements.
• Hire, coach and grow engineering managers and senior engineers across locations.
• Manage vendors and partnerships to deliver results and inform buy/build decisions.
• Represent engineering with executives, regulators and partners.
