Job summary

Wealth Enhancement Group is seeking a Director of Data Governance to lead the enterprise data governance program, align policy with business goals, and drive data quality and regulatory compliance. This remote leadership role partners with business units, IT, risk, and executives to advance governance across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in data governance within financial services, including experience with governance tools and change management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, information systems, data management, or a related field.
Experience in financial services, wealth management, or a similarly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, risk, operations, transformation, or a closely related discipline, including 2 years leading enterprise or cross-functional programs and people.
Experience with Salesforce and Orion is strongly preferred.
Experience leading enterprise change and adoption efforts; familiarity with formal change management methods such as ADKAR or Prosci preferred.
Experience presenting to and working directly with governance boards, committees, or senior executives.
Experience establishing or advancing a federated data governance operating model strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Informatica.
Fluency with enterprise reporting platforms, data catalogs, metadata tools, and data-quality platforms.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Governance: Manage daily operations of the enterprise data governance program, including the operating model, multi-year roadmap, governance tiers, decision rights, policy development, standards, procedures, and change control.
Collaboration, Adoption, and Change Management: Partner with executive data owners, data owners, data stewards, and data custodians to define data definitions, ownership, authoritative sources, lineage, quality standards, controls, and remediation requirements.
Technology and Regulatory Oversight: Monitor regulatory and industry developments relevant to data governance and recommend program updates as needed; define the data governance technology strategy and manage requirements for governance tooling.
Team Leadership: Direct the Data Governance Team in work allocation, quality expectations, development planning, and performance objectives.
