Job summary

Geode Capital Management, LLC seeks a Director of Data Governance & Strategy to lead and advance the firm’s enterprise data governance program from Boston. You will shape strategy, establish standards, and drive a scalable, secure data ecosystem enabling data-driven decision-making.

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and requires partnering with business and technology teams to balance governance with growth, innovation, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading data governance in financial services.
• Proven ability to implement enterprise data governance programs.
• Experience with data catalogs and metadata management.
• Strong collaboration across business and technology domains.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee enterprise data governance framework, policies, standards, and operating model.
• Drive inventory and classification of critical data assets to improve discoverability, usability, and accountability.
• Document and maintain end-to-end data flows across sourcing, transformation, and consumption.
• Design and implement a comprehensive data quality framework covering accuracy, completeness, consistency, validity, and timeliness.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of data catalog capabilities.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure regulatory and privacy requirements.
• Establish governance forums across business domains and foster data literacy.
