Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Director of Conflicts to partner with Risk Management and the Office of the General Counsel to ensure timely conflict resolution and risk mitigation. Lead training for staff, oversee policy development, and manage budgets and audits across the firm.

The role requires deep conflicts expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments to maintain high standards of client service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; JD strongly preferred but not required.
• Extensive legal conflicts experience within a law firm environment in an attorney or senior paralegal role.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience in conflicts and risk management.
• Subject matter expertise in legal ethics and conflicts rules, practices, and procedures.
• Experience leading company-wide initiatives within a multi-office setting; professional services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage firm-wide conflict checking and risk management processes.
• Train and supervise conflicts managers, counsel, analysts, and related teams.
• Develop and enforce policies addressing conflicts, intake, and risk management.
• Oversee department budgets, projects, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Deliver and review daily/weekly reports on conflicts and investigations.
