Ladders is seeking a Director of Computer Vision to lead a remote, enterprise-scale CV program in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. You will shape the technical direction, align research, engineering, and product execution, and scale a distributed CV organization to deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities include setting a long-term research roadmap, leading cross-functional teams, and guiding talent development while balancing innovation with real-world customer needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical leadership in computer vision.
• 5+ years hands-on model optimization experience.
• Experience defining long-term vision and roadmaps for large-scale platforms.
• Experience managing distributed engineering orgs of 50–100 people.
• Strong analytical skills with AI performance metrics and real-time video processing.
• Track record translating customer needs into executable roadmaps.
• Experience in a start-up or fast-paced environment with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term research agenda for computer vision capabilities and foster a culture of scientific excellence.
• Provide executive leadership to unify research and engineering teams, defining architecture and strategy.
• Manage and scale a distributed computer vision organization, overseeing recruitment and talent development.
• Own the engineering lifecycle for computer vision models, establishing best practices for MLOps.
• Implement and track key performance metrics to measure engineering success and drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge research and technologies while managing technical risks.
• Lead critical engineering decisions, including build-versus-buy analyses.
