Job summary

Discovery Land Company seeks a full-time Director of Architecture to lead the architectural voice across luxury residential, private club, and mixed-use developments. Remote role with regular travel to project sites; reports to the Executive Director, Discovery Creative.

You will guide architectural direction early in projects, manage external architects, and defend design intent through milestones, while ensuring consistency, quality, and brand alignment across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• The candidate has 10+ years of architecture experience on luxury projects and 4+ years on the owner/developer side.
• Strong conceptual design skills, massing, test fits, and sketching.
• Experience directing teams, reviewing work of international architects, and presenting to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural direction across luxury residences, clubs, and mixed-use developments.
• Advise on design strategy, engage with external architects, and ensure design intent.
• Manage design staff growth and coordinate with other departments for brand-aligned outcomes.
• Participate in zoning, planning, and design reviews; support value engineering decisions.
