Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of AI Engineering (Remote - eligible) to lead AI systems that power real-time, personalized banking experiences. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI with substantial AI/ML leadership experience.
• At least 3 years of people leadership experience.
• Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment and support of AI software components including model training, inference, and governance.
• Make high-level build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Invent and apply state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for production AI systems.
• Contribute to long-term technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems.
• Attract and retain top AI talent and mentor team members.
• Foster a culture of learning and staying current with AI advances.
