Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, AI Engineering for the Agentic AI Platform. This remote‑eligible role leads AI/ML initiatives, sets architectural direction, and drives the performance of large‑scale AI systems.

You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, PMs, and partners to deliver impactful AI products. You will guide foundation model training, inference, guardrails, governance, and observability while shaping the long‑term roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus 10+ years of AI/ML leadership experience, or Master’s with 8+ years.
• Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver AI-powered products and platforms.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components.
• Make build‑vs‑buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI tech stacks.
• Drive state‑of‑the‑art LLM optimization for scalable, cost‑efficient production systems.
• Contribute to long‑term AI foundational systems roadmap and vision.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop AI engineering talent.
