Mindlance is seeking a Director, AI Security Platform Engineer to lead a small engineering team while personally delivering production code. You will own platform architecture, drive design decisions, and coordinate integration contracts across teams.

The role blends ~60% hands-on engineering and architecture with ~40% people leadership, requiring senior distributed systems expertise and strong cross-organizational collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's in CS, cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in software engineering or architecture with distributed systems at enterprise scale.
• Experience designing and shipping platforms used by other teams.
• Track record leading a small engineering team as hands-on player-coach.
• Cross-organizational technical leadership influencing architecture decisions.
• Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, EU AI Act).
• Strong communication skills to brief leadership and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture for a multi-service security platform and build core services.
• Lead, grow, and mentor a small engineering team; balance delivery with coaching.
• Design and build the agent consumption layer for AI agents and authentication models.
• Develop data models mapping policy to evidence and immutable audit trails.
• Create enterprise integration services connecting ITSM, cloud security tools, and data lakes.
• Own ADRs, technology selection, and cross-team data contracts.
• Design multi-tenant, low-latency, scalable consumption patterns for AI agents.
