Job summary

Active Minds seeks a Digital Media Intern to support the Social Media and Digital Marketing team in creating engaging video content for multiple platforms. Expect to contribute to short and long-form videos, plan and execute content across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.

You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit digital marketing, collaborate across communications and programs, and build a portfolio that demonstrates creative storytelling and audience engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience creating video content for social media platforms.
• Strong video editing and storytelling abilities across formats.
• Proven writing and communications skills for digital channels.
• Familiar with Canva and video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Interest in filming, editing, and on-camera presence.
• Team-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn.
• Knowledge of Google Workspace, Zoom, and Dropbox.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and publish short- and long-form video content for social media and digital channels.
• Assist with content planning, development, and execution across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Support video production efforts, including filming, editing, captioning, and optimizing content for various audiences and platforms.
• Collaborate with staff across departments to identify and develop stories that highlight Active Minds programs, events, and impact.
• Assist with graphic design and content creation using Canva and other creative tools.
• Monitor social media trends, emerging platforms, and content best practices to inform content development.
• Support community engagement efforts by helping manage comments, messages, and audience interactions.
• Assist with content organization, asset management, and other marketing and communications projects as needed
