Job summary

Active Minds is seeking a Digital Media Intern to join our Marketing and Communications team. This remote, part-time position supports the social media and digital marketing team with video content creation, editing, and distribution across platforms. Start date is Feb 1, 2027, ending Apr 23, 2027, for 20 hours per week.

The internship offers opportunities to learn nonprofit digital marketing, storytelling, and brand engagement while collaborating with staff across programs and advocacy teams.

Qualifications

• Experience creating engaging social media content with heavy video editing.
• Solid storytelling and written communication skills for captions and posts.
• Proficiency with Canva or similar design tools.
• Strong editing skills for long- and short-form videos.
• Comfort with on-camera presence and content planning across platforms.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, and file sharing tools.
• Enrolled or recently graduated from a U.S. college/university.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and publish short- and long-form video content for social media and digital channels.
• Assist with content planning, development, and execution across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Support video production efforts, including filming, editing, captioning, and optimizing content for various audiences and platforms.
• Collaborate with staff across departments to identify and develop stories that highlight Active Minds programs, events, and impact.
• Assist with graphic design and content creation using Canva and other creative tools.
• Monitor social media trends and inform content development.
• Support community engagement by helping manage comments, messages, and audience interactions.
• Aid content organization, asset management, and other marketing and communications projects.
