Active Minds seeks a Digital Media Intern to join the Marketing and Communications team remotely. The role focuses on creating engaging video content for social platforms, with opportunities to learn nonprofit digital marketing and advocate for mental health awareness.

You'll work with staff across departments, gaining hands-on experience in content development, video production, and audience engagement while building a strong portfolio of work for a nationally recognized nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Experience with social media video editing and content creation.
• Strong ability to tell stories through video content.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Familiarity with Canva for graphic content.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software.
• Interest in filming/editing and being on camera.
• Detail-oriented and creative thinker with collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and publish short- and long-form video content for social media and digital channels.
• Assist content planning and development across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Support video production including filming, editing, captioning, and optimization for audiences.
• Collaborate with staff to identify stories highlighting Active Minds programs and impact.
• Assist with graphic design and content creation using Canva and other tools.
• Monitor social media trends to inform content development.
• Help manage comments, messages, and audience interactions.
