Job summary

8 Cents in a Jar seeks a Digital Design & Social Media Intern to help tell our story through visuals, videos, and content across platforms. You’ll work on mission-driven storytelling, marketing support, and creative projects that engage students, families, partners, and communities in Central Florida.

The role emphasizes independence, creativity, and collaboration within a nonprofit setting, with hands-on opportunities to contribute to campaigns and content days.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A creative eye and willingness to experiment with storytelling, design, video, and digital content.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and how content differs across them.
• Experience with Canva, Affinity, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Wix, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging graphics, flyers, presentations, program materials, social media content, and other branded assets using Canva and other creative tools.
• Support digital marketing campaigns across email, social media, web, and other platforms to reach diverse audiences.
• Create and edit short-form videos, Reels, graphics, photos, and other visual content for social media, programs, events, and campaigns.
• Help maintain a consistent 8 Cents in a Jar look, feel, voice, and brand across materials.
• Organize photos, videos, templates, graphics, and other assets for easy reuse.
