Job summary

URVC's Digital Communications Assistant role at the University of Minnesota focuses on developing and maintaining URVC’s website and digital collateral. The part-time, remote position reports to the Council Chair and supports the Projects Director and Communications Committee.

The role requires strong writing, Drupal experience, and familiarity with university digital systems, with a minimum two years in web design and maintenance. 25.00 USD per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a solid grasp of digital marketing principles.
• Familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing tools, and analytics software.
• Proficiency in Drupal and familiarity with University digital systems.
• Creativity, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills to assist in developing and managing engaging content.
• At least two years of experience in web design and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Conveys URVC's purpose, goals, accomplishments, opportunities and resources.
• All information is current and accurate.
• New and consistent information is posted regularly (e.g. article links, stories, testimonials, upcoming events).
• Allows potential volunteers to easily access information needed to determine alignment with their interests and abilities.
• Allows volunteer agencies/site coordinators clear information needed to post volunteer openings through URVC.
• Reflects URVC's alignment with U of M strategic goals and imperatives.
• Follows U of M branding and accessibility standards.
• Support the development of URVC digital materials (e.g. videos, testimonials, newsletter articles) designed to inform and inspire current and potential volunteers.
