Job summary

EBSCO Information Services is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist. The role partners with design, product, and engineering to build accessible features across EBSCOhost and related products, aligning with WCAG and 508 standards.

This entry-level position offers a path to grow technical accessibility skills while contributing to inclusive experiences for researchers and educators. Remote-friendly with hybrid options.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of accessibility experience (internships, coursework, certifications, or hands-on projects welcome).
• Familiarity with WCAG guidelines and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver).
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript as they relate to accessible web development.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with customers.
• Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing (screen readers, keyboard navigation, color contrast, etc.) against WCAG 2.2 AA, EN 301 549 and Section 508 standards.
• Document accessibility defects clearly and collaborate with cross functional teams to identify remediation approaches.
• Support accessibility audits of new and existing features throughout the development lifecycle.
• Help maintain and update accessibility documentation, including ACRs (VPATs), Roadmaps, Statements, etc.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to advocate for accessible design and development practices.
• Stay current on evolving accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and industry best practices.
