Job summary

Smith Chason College seeks a part-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography Faculty to deliver high-quality instruction in a remote setting. The candidate will guide students through ultrasound basics, maintain labs, and ensure alignment with program standards.

The role requires ARDMS licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and at least four years of practical experience. Experience with Canvas LMS and online instruction is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of related practical work experience in the subject area taught.
• Maintain ARDMS licensure and CE requirements as specified by Smith Chason College.
• Maintain an active CPR/BLS certification.
• Strong technical skills across computer applications, internet research, and data handling.
• Experience with Canvas or LMS for instruction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review course syllabus and establish due dates with students on the first day of class.
• Provide instructions and demonstrations on ergonomics, knobology, anatomy and scanning techniques using current references.
• Assist students with questions about protocols, procedures and policies, and provide constructive feedback.
• Demonstrate respect and empathy towards students and accommodate diverse needs.
• Maintain clean and organized labs with student assistance and prepare them for a professional environment.
• Prepare and maintain labs and ensure proper functioning of instructional equipment; order supplies and report issues to Program Director.
• Maintain records of students’ lab hours completed for each course.
• Monitor student progress and report academic issues to Program Director/DOE using proper forms.
• Provide feedback on protocols and teaching materials.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Campus Director, Director of Education, and Program Director.
