Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to implement and maintain advanced imaging technologies, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead quality assurance across a large health system. The role reports to the Director of Radiation Safety and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on research initiatives and program development.

The position involves home-based work with oversight of CT and MRI protocol development, vendor partnerships, and guidance on equipment

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or equivalent is required.
• 4 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray and RAM licenses.
• Develop and evaluate radiation safety policies and practices.
• Oversee equipment performance evaluations for diagnostic imaging.
• Perform dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with health physicist on radiation incident investigations.
• Participate in Radiation Protocol and Safety Committees.
• Assist with accreditations and regulatory surveys as needed.
• Coordinate acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and provide shielding guidance.
