Job summary

The Division of Diagnostic Medical Physics within the Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a clinically oriented Diagnostic Medical Physicist to join our team, providing comprehensive imaging physics support across VCU Health's hospitals and outpatient sites including theranostic programs.

You will perform QA, acceptance testing, dose optimization, radiation safety oversight, and contribute to education of residents, CAMPEP students, and technologists,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, or closely related discipline.
• Board certification in Diagnostic Radiological Physics / Diagnostic Medical Physics by ABR or equivalent on hire or within 2 years.
• Clinical experience in diagnostic medical/imaging physics in a hospital or health-system environment.
• Eligibility for permanent employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical physics support for imaging modalities including radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.
• Lead quality assurance, acceptance testing, and regulatory/accreditation support.
• Support radiation safety, dose tracking and MRI safety, and contribute to education and training.
• Collaborate across Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Safety on theranostic programs.
