One Physics in Portland, OR is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Physicist to support imaging centers and hospital departments by evaluating imaging systems and ensuring compliance with state regulations and accreditation standards.

The role involves optimizing image quality, advising on dose management, shielding, and radiation safety programs, with opportunities to engage in clinical protocol management and training.

Qualifications

• Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Medical Physics.
• CAMPEP-accredited residency in diagnostic physics.
• 3+ years of clinical imaging experience including radiation safety and procedures.
• Ability to enter MRI rooms.
• Strong knowledge of state regulations and ACR/TJC criteria.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to go above and beyond for clients and colleagues.
• Demonstrated initiative, organization, and task ownership.
• Ability to problem solve by developing viable solutions.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine audits of compliance records related to equipment registration, regulations, and Radiation Protection Programs.
• Perform annual performance evaluations of radiologic imaging systems (fluoroscopy, radiography, mammography, CT).
• Oversee and review technologist quality control programs.
• Attend Radiation Safety Committee and Radiation Protocol Committee meetings.
• Consult staff in response to occupational and/or patient over-exposures.
• Advise with technologists, radiologists, and Radiation Safety Officer on clinical protocol management and dose assessment.
• Supplement hospital training on radiation safety and magnet safety for staff and technologists.
• Review occupational dosimetry reports and advise when ALARA levels are exceeded.
• Perform assessments of public exposure around x-ray rooms.
• Provide design, shielding assessments and evaluate installed shielding.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
