Job summary

Newel Health is seeking a remote DevOps Engineer to scale cloud-native infra for regulated digital health products. You will design cloud-based infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

The role emphasizes security, IaC with Terraform, incident response, and collaboration across product, engineering, and QA to support MDR/CE, GDPR, HIPAA deployments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in DevOps, cloud engineering or SRE in health tech or regulated settings.
• Hands-on with AWS, GCP or Azure and Kubernetes; Serverless is a plus.
• CI/CD tooling and monitoring: GitLab CI/Jenkins/GitHub Actions; Prometheus, Grafana.
• Strong security discipline and compliance knowledge (ISO 27001, SOC2).
• Scripting in Python or Bash; comfortable with REST APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR/HL7) is advantageous.
• IEC 62304 experience is a plus; English fluency required.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain cloud-based/serverless infra (AWS/GCP/Azure) for SaMD.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for rapid, compliant delivery.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and QA to meet regulatory needs.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or similar tools.
• Configure security controls, IAM, backup, and network policies.
• Monitor performance, security, uptime; lead incident response.
• Support audit readiness for MDR/CE, DiGA and FDA deployments.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices to reduce risk.
