Job summary

Foundation Fighting Blindness seeks a Development Manager to drive fundraising and lead volunteer networks across Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville. You will build relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners, and collaborate with internal teams to execute events and campaigns.

You will manage strategies that grow revenue, mentor volunteers, and communicate scientific progress in accessible ways. Remote‑friendly, with regional travel and some evening/weekend work.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in fundraising, community engagement, development, or related nonprofit role
• Proven success meeting or growing revenue goals across individual giving, sponsorships, peer-to-peer or events
• Strong relationship builder with volunteers, donors, and community partners
• Experience recruiting and supporting volunteer leaders and committees
• Comfortable as a public-facing representative in local communities
• Well organized with ability to manage multiple priorities across a defined territory
• Experience using a donor database/CRM (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) to track engagement and run reports
• Clear, compassionate communicator able to explain complex information accessibly
• Able to work independently while collaborating with internal teams in a remote environment
• Willingness to learn and communicate scientific information at a high level
• Comfortable with regional travel and occasional evenings/weekends for events
• Proficient with Microsoft 365, Zoom, databases, and calendars; experience with chapter-based networks preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out fundraising strategies to grow revenue year over year across assigned communities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, donors, local businesses, sponsors and community partners
• Work with volunteer committees to plan and execute fundraising events and activities
• Partner with Regional Director and internal teams to set priorities and measures of success for the territory
• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteer leaders to stay engaged and effective
• Serve as the Foundation’s primary representative in the community and share resources and scientific progress
• Use the donor database to track engagement and inform fundraising decisions
• Tailor approaches to the unique strengths and needs of each community to grow chapters
• Manage community materials and resources for events and local engagement
• Explain the Foundation’s work and its impact to diverse audiences across the territory
