Job summary

Foundation Fighting Blindness is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising and community engagement across Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and surrounding areas. This hands-on role focuses on growing revenue, volunteering leadership, and nurturing relationships with donors, sponsors, and local partners.

In this position you will plan and execute fundraising strategies, collaborate with volunteer committees, and coordinate with internal teams to achieve annual revenue goals while representing

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of fundraising, community engagement, development, or related non-profit experience.
• Demonstrated success meeting or growing revenue goals including individual giving, sponsorships, peer-to-peer fundraising, or events.
• Strong relationship-building with volunteers, donors, and local partners.
• Experience recruiting and supporting volunteer leaders, including committees or chapter volunteers.
• Comfortable as a visible, public-facing representative in communities.
• Excellent organizational skills across multiple priorities and events.
• Experience using donor databases/CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Raiserdge) to track engagement and reporting.
• Clear, compassionate communicator able to explain complex information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fundraising strategies that grow revenue year over year across assigned communities.
• Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, donors, local businesses, sponsors, and community partners.
• Collaborate with volunteer committees to plan and run fundraising events and activities.
• Coordinate with Regional Director and internal teams to set priorities and success measures for the territory.
• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteer leaders to stay connected and effective.
• Represent the Foundation in the community, sharing resources and scientific progress accessibly.
• Use donor data to inform outreach and fundraising decisions.
• Tailor approaches to each community to help chapters grow and succeed.
