Eliassen Group is seeking a Dev Lead for a remote contract role focused on architecture, code quality, and AGILE delivery of AI solutions. You will own technical direction, security, and performance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with Product Owner to drive outcomes.

The role balances hands-on programming (Python/FastAPI, ReactJS) with leadership across GenAI initiatives, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and secure, scalable SaaS services for a global user base.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering with solution architecture.
• 1+ years building GenAI applications including RAG, agentic search, and LLM integrations.
• 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers.
• 2+ years as a senior or principal engineer with design and operational ownership.
• 2+ years leading Agile engineering with Product Owners and QA engineers.
• Proficiency translating business requirements into technical designs.
• Hands-on Python with FastAPI for REST APIs and microservices; ReactJS experience.
• AWS or Azure cloud experience including Azure OpenAI and LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Own solution architecture and design balancing functionality with security, scalability and performance.
• Set technical direction for the backlog and support story refinement.
• Define squad priorities and advise the Product Owner on product priorities.
• Own service security and address risks early.
• Stay current on GenAI and share insights across teams.
• Lead agentic engineering practices from planning through iteration.
• Oversee PR process with AI-assisted review and enforce coding norms.
• Maintain code quality, test coverage, and prevent new technical debt.
• Set guardrails for agent-generated code and validate against specs.
• Remove blockers, coach engineers, and manage releases.
• Coordinate dependencies across teams to improve velocity.
• Foster a safe environment for questions and experimentation.
• Provide direct, constructive feedback and align technical work with outcomes.
