Bixal is seeking a Design Lead to serve as the primary UX research and design authority on the CMS Data.CMS.gov program. You will lead human-centered design across the full lifecycle, translating research into usable interfaces and governance for the design system.

You will conduct user research, develop personas and journeys, create wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, and collaborate with engineers and CMS leadership to ensure accessibility and quality across public data pages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human-centered design or related field.
• At least five years of experience in HCD and user research for public-facing data websites.
• Portfolio showing end-to-end work from research through shipped product.

Responsabilités

• Lead all human-centered design activities across the Data.CMS.gov program.
• Plan and facilitate user research activities (interviews, usability tests, surveys).
• Develop artifacts: personas, journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
• Evolve the Data.CMS.gov design system and ensure accessibility compliance across product teams.
• Collaborate with engineering to translate designs into implementation and participate in agile ceremonies.
