Job summary

AKQA is seeking an experienced Design Lead to guide and inspire designers, lead the evolution of design systems, and ensure creative excellence across a flagship digital product experience. You will mentor junior and mid‑level designers and collaborate with UX, strategy, and development teams to deliver cohesive, high‑quality solutions.

Remote role (US only) with Seattle‑based candidates welcome; regular onsite client visits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in UI design, art direction, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor design teams.
• Deep expertise in creating and evolving design systems.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and component/library management.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership and creative direction for a design team.
• Oversee the creation and evolution of complex design systems for scalability.
• Shape the creative vision for digital platforms, aligning with client goals.
