Job summary

AKQA is seeking an experienced Freelance Design Lead to guide and inspire designers, lead the evolution of complex design systems, and ensure creative excellence across a flagship digital product experience. This remote freelance role runs ASAP through September 30, 2026.

You will provide hands‑on leadership, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with UX, strategy, and development teams to deliver cohesive, high‑quality solutions for a globally recognized brand.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in UI design, art direction, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire teams with mentoring experience.
• Deep expertise in creating and evolving design systems for scalability and consistency.
• Strong working knowledge of UI, mobile, and responsive design principles.
• Expert proficiency in Figma and component/library management.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting work to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with UX and development teams on integrated solutions.
• Proactive mindset and ability to adapt to evolving technology and design landscapes.

Responsibilities
