Job summary

AKQA Media, part of WPP, seeks an experienced Freelance Design Lead to guide a flagship digital product for a major travel brand. You will lead design teams, advance complex design systems, and ensure creative excellence from concept to delivery.

Remote in the US with Atlanta-based candidates welcome to join in person occasionally. Freelance through 2026-12-23, 40 hrs/week, $3,000–$3,400 weekly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UI design, art direction, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor designers.
• Deep expertise in creating and evolving design systems.
• Strong knowledge of UI, mobile and responsive design principles.
• Expert proficiency in Figma, including components and libraries.
• Excellent communication to present work to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with UX and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership guiding a team of designers.
• Oversee creation and evolution of complex design systems.
