Job summary

Leading Educators is seeking a Design and Coaching Specialist to drive transformative instructional change across Philadelphia schools. You will blend math expertise with coaching to shape teacher practice and student achievement.

This remote role involves observing classrooms, designing professional learning, and co-creating resources tailored to each school's context. You will travel bi-weekly locally and occasionally nationally to support schools and districts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in education, including teaching, leading instructional practice, or supporting curriculum implementation
• Demonstrated expertise in Grade 6–Secondary mathematics content, with foundational knowledge of K–5 standards
• Proven experience providing coaching to teachers, teacher leaders, or school leaders with documented impact on practice
• Strong skills in designing and facilitating professional learning aligned to curriculum, standards, and observable instructional practice
• Ability to analyze student work, classroom observation data, and instructional artifacts to inform coaching and professional learning decisions
• Established credibility as an instructional leader with the ability to manage school-based relationships with professionalism, reliability, and expertise
• Active practitioner-level fluency with artificial intelligence tools—you use AI to improve work quality and impact, identify appropriate use cases, and exercise sound judgment about responsible application
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including bi-weekly local travel to schools and district meetings, plus occasional national travel for organizational retreats and professional development

Responsibilities

• Observe classrooms and analyze student work to inform coaching and professional learning decisions
• Facilitate professional learning experiences, PLCs, and leadership sessions
• Co-design resources and tools tailored to each school's context
• Partner with school leaders and instructional teams to implement Illustrative Mathematics with precision and impact
