Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of complex VA initiatives. This fully remote role within the United States requires strong problem-solving, collaboration, and the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Core hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET, with periodic weekend support during EHR deployment events. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 15+ years of work experience (10 years may substitute

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical or related field.
• 15+ years of work experience required; 10 years may substitute for degree.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and remote collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordination, and execution of VA initiatives.
• Coordinate activities across SMEs, Data Analysts, Writers, and government stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and resources across multiple activities.
• Identify emerging requirements and develop practical solutions to delivery challenges.
• Maintain documentation and leadership communications on team progress and risks.
• Support development of executive briefings, status reports, and project plans.
• Drive cross-functional reporting and ensure action items close.
• Seek process improvements and innovative approaches to program execution.
• Act as trusted adviser and extend project leadership with collaboration.
