Ladders is seeking an experienced Deputy CISO to join a leader in Finance & Insurance security. You will partner with the CISO to shape and execute the security strategy, blending executive leadership with hands-on engineering depth to align security with business priorities.

The role is remote for US-based candidates only. You will mentor security engineers, guide architecture reviews, own budgeting, and drive threat modeling and incident readiness across engineering teams.

Qualifikationen

• 12+ years in security engineering or leadership roles with hands-on depth.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, or related field.
• Expertise in cloud security architecture (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong background in application security and modern architecture patterns like microservices and zero-trust.

Aufgaben

• Partner with the CISO to define and execute the security strategy and roadmap.
• Act as deputy and escalation point for the CISO, representing security leadership in their absence.
• Provide leadership and oversight across the security organization, empowering team leads.
• Build, mentor, and lead security engineers and architects to elevate technical standards.
• Own security budget planning and vendor/tool evaluation in partnership with the CISO.
• Conduct hands-on technical reviews of security architecture across various platforms.
• Lead threat modeling and architecture reviews, engaging with engineering teams.
