Job summary

Ethos Life is seeking a Deputy CISO to partner with the CISO, guiding security strategy and day-to-day operations with a hands-on technical focus. You will lead security engineers, oversee architecture reviews, and drive secure-by-design practices across cloud platforms and software delivery.

The role demands deep expertise in cloud security (AWS), incident response, and translating technical risk for executives. This is a remote US role with strategic impact and cross-functional visibility.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security engineering, architecture, or technical security leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Hands-on security leadership with cloud security, IAM, and secure SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the security strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
• Act as deputy and escalation point for the CISO and engage with executives/board.
• Oversee security org, mentor engineers and architects, manage security budget and resourcing.
• Lead security reviews of cloud architectures, threat modeling, and secure-by-design in SDLC/CI/CD.
